The letter mentions Mr. Lang of whom Barrie is an "ardent admirer" and the works by Robert Louis Stevenson. -- Letter, 1907 Mar. 23, Leinster Corner, Lancaster Gate, W. to Dorothy Douglas. Holograph, signed and envelope. Douglas had written to Barrie and this is his response. Also includes a flyer containing a photograph of Barrie and a copy of the letter of transmission of the Barrie letter to Smith that provides background on the Barrie letter.

James Matthew Barrie (1860-1937) was a playwright and novelist who is chiefly remembered as the creator of Peter Pan. Barrie was born in Scotland and moved to London in 1885 where he would reside for the remainder of his life.
